John Lissoway is involved with an ongoing WFA three year contract with the community-based nonprofit Chimayo Conservation Corps (Chimayo, New Mexico) to provide all pre-treatment and post-treatment forest and dead/down fuels monitoring for the USFS, BLM, and New Mexico State Land Office.  The project purpose is mechanical thinning in overstocked forest areas to protect values at risk from wildfire.  John also delivers training courses in fire ecology, safety, basic silviculture, and forest health to locally hired forest workers for this project.
